Welcome from the CEO
On behalf of Nene Education Trust, I would like to thank you for your interest in the post of Principal at Newton Road School.
We are a growing Trust, currently with one secondary and seven primary-phase schools catering in total for 3000 students in North Northants.
I am looking to appoint someone that is keen to bring their leadership experience to benefit one of our most rewarding schools. This role is deliberately designed for leaders that enjoy the challenge of creating rapid but sustainable impact.
I became CEO five years ago and I am extremely proud of the achievements we have made in a very short space of time.
We have been able to make significant investment into our facilities as well as our school improvement team, who you will have the pleasure of working with to achieve educational excellence at Newton Road.
You will work with agency within a shared set of principles, whilst promoting a common language around high quality teaching, curriculum and leadership.
The Nene Education Trust is committed to raising aspirations and developing character in a positive environment. We truly place ‘developing character’ at the centre of all we do. The culture we have created for all our staff through the mental health, wellbeing and mindfulness strategies are pivotal to our first shared principle ‘people first’.
For our pupils, each school has devised their curriculum around ‘Work, World and Wellness’, ensuring that within the context of each school we are developing well- rounded individuals.
Throughout their educational journey, all students receive wellbeing support and have wide opportunities through our ‘Whole Child’ project to express their pride in who they are through creative arts.
As a Principal, you will be able to fully focus on curriculum, teaching and learning and provide the highest quality provision for our young people in the communities that we serve. At Newton Road we are on a journey of improvement, Ofsted in September '23 recognising the improvement made from special measures to requires improvement overall but with many aspects identified as good.
We now have in place an effective operations team at the Trust focusing on HR, Finance, Estates and IT that can take the burden of these areas away from school leaders; creating more time to focus on the core purpose of school improvement.
You must be an exceptional and inspirational leader who can motivate all those around you. Developing positive and proactive relationships with school-based staff will play a key part to this role being highly successful.
You must be comfortable being visible and outward facing with the whole community of the school and wider Trust.
